The Resonants sing a variety of styles of music from different periods and in different languages. Madrigals, spirituals, jazz, contemporary, sacred, childrens', Australian, world – they are all part of The Resonants repertoire.
While being most interested in a cappella choral music, the choir also sings with a range of different accompaniments including piano, chamber orchestra, brass ensemble and organ. The Resonants have collaborated with other musicians to hold combined concerts, including reknowned Canberra musicians such as Nicole Canham, Anthony Smith, Louise Page, Phillipa Candy, Robert Schmidli, Guitar Trek, The Idea of North, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and others. A more recent development for The Resonants has been occasional involvement in the Canberra International Music Festival. The Resonants commissioned a new work by Canberra composer Liam Waterford as part of their 2009 Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society (ADFAS) Young Arts Award, and in 2015, commissioned 'Resonance' by Sally Greenaway to commemorate the group's 25th anniversary.
